Safety: Handle bleach carefully under adult supervision while wearing suitable rubber, nitrile, or latex gloves with plenty of ventilation.

1. 1. Wipe the jug off with a clean cloth, inside and outside where possible.
2. 2. Rinse out the jug.
3. 3. Pour in about 1/2 gallon water.
4. 4. Add about 1/4 cup bleach.
5. 5. Close the jug.
6. 6. Shake to cover all of the internal surfaces with the water / bleach solution.
7. 7. Let sit for 5 minutes.
8. 8. Empty the jug, being sure to pour out via any spouts.
9. 9. Rinse each jug several times with water.
10. 10. Empty the jug as thoroughly as possible.
11. 11. Let it sit open to thoroughly dry.
12. 12. Check occasionally and shake out excess water that has gathered.
13. 13. Close the jug.
14. 14. Return to the next meeting or campout.
